The beauty of Blockchain gaming

#This write-up is brought to you by Hackeetstores.

What is Blockchain technology?

Blockchain is a decentralized ledger that is open to everyone on the network. It confers immutable proof of ownership and also allows recording of transactions.

Blockchain technology and gaming.

Classic games are owned and hosted by centralized bodies with their servers. This means that you pay to play the game, but you don't own the game or anything in it. Whatever collectibles you buy or earn in the game belongs to the game owners. In the event the server is shut down, or you stop playing the game, all collectibles and game characters you bought in the game disappears or goes with the game.

In Blockchain gaming, things are different, the collectibles you earn or buy are essentially outside the game in your own wallet usually in the form of non-fungible tokens. The Blockchain technology allows for immutable proof of ownership. It still allows you to decide to sell or keep your collectibles. Just imagine owning a golden armor in a game and your friend wants that golden armor. You can actually collect money from him and send him the golden armor.

The allure in Blockchain gaming is that you retain ownership of the game parts you own.

The beauty of Blockchain gaming.

The “multiverse”.

The blockchain gives information on the existence and provable ownership of a large variety of items, and because of its decentralized nature this information is available to anyone who wants to check it!

This information allows the game developers of different games to be able to implement the blockchain and create unique ways for you to use your game collectibles. For example, game A will let you wear your golden armor, while game B incorporates your armor as a coat of arms for you. There are many ways that the collectibles you own can be used in another game. The game checks what items you have on your wallet and modifies it in their own inventory for you or even allows you to use it as is.

This also means you can own items that are not playable yet. You can have a golden sword, but there's no game where you can use it yet.

Further more there's no limit to the games your collectibles can be used in, as long as the game developer supports your unique collectibles, you can use it there.

A popular example of this block chain gaming experience is the axe onisdarian. It was given away by enjin wallet as an NFT(Non fungible token), but now it can be used in a number of blockchain games like forgotten artifacts and others. This gives you more utility and value for your game collectibles.

This, if you ask me, is the future of gaming.

One of the most challenging aspects of being a creative writer is assisting others in showcasing their skills. As a result, I created this platform "Journey across minds" to help people who want to express themselves but don't have the means to do so. This is a rare opportunity for people to interact with other individuals' work and express themselves freely. Therefore, if you have a write up and you need a platform to publish it, send me an email and it is done. All for free!
