Top 5 nutrition mistakes

Here are the five biggest nutrition mistakes we find ourselves making, even when we try not to. Of course, there're more but these are too common and should be elaborated on.

-Dieting based on assumption:
Most importantly we have to know what dieting is...
Dieting is the act of managing consumption of food and drinks with the desire to lose, gain or maintain weight; often times, we diet based on results of others, reviews and assumptions, making conclusions that what worked for "A" would probably  work for "B". I can't over emphasize on the fact that "we are all unique and therefore have our individual nutrition requirements".

-Sticking too hard to a diet recommendation:
It is actually very good to stick to diet recommendations. However, with time our body changes and new recommendations are needed making the old one irrelevant. Moreover, the most important part of recommendation is knowing what actually works for your body, in that way we can combine useful information from blogs, write ups, research and publications. When we continue with such recommendations, we are going to record little or no improvement rate on our body. Let's take for example; someone allergic to peanut butter can't compromise taking it merely because it was recommended.

-Not exercising at all or exercising too much:
I'll state this categorically that:
If you are not physically active you increase your health risks in many ways. Coronary Heart Disease, strokes, high blood pressure, breathlessness, flabby body, little energy, stiff joints, osteoporosis, poor posture, overweight.

And on the other hand:
When you exercise too much, your body can interpret it as a stressor, sending out stress hormones like cortisol that makes sleeping difficult. On the flip side, over-training can actually make some people more tired than normal.

-Eating too many or too few calories:
Eating fewer calories than your body needs can cause your metabolism to slow down,  loss of muscle mass is also experienced. This occurs a result of inadequate nutrient for cells, tissues and muscle growth and development.
Based on this, how many calories is termed too few or too much?
People need a minimum of 1,200 calories and a maximum of about 3,000 calories daily to stay healthy and those who have a strenuous fitness routine or perform more daily activities need more calories.
Your body needs calories for energy. But eating too many calories and not burning enough of them off through activity can lead to weight gain.

-Waiting until you're famished before eating:
There may be truth, to that old saying: “Hunger is the best sauce.” however when we wait until we're exhausted, tired and famished before eating we end up eating so fast that we miss the signs that our body sends telling us we are full, leading to eating more than we physically need.

Definitely mistakes are inevitable, but can also be avoided. In as much as these mistakes are made often, the knowledge of them should make it less likely to occur.
my greatest concern is your health and your general well-being, that's why I always got you covered.

Insightful and helpful at the same time. Your last point actually points out where most people fall victim of this bad feeding habit. Thank you and I am also looking forward to seeing more of this.
